Eastmont Partners is led by Scott Miller. Scott provides strategic advice and assistance with strategic plan development and implementation for a variety of top-tier venture capital, private equity, public company and health system clients. Prior to founding Eastmont, Scott co-led the corporate development function at Covidien PLC, establishing key processes and strategies for a department of 30 professionals supporting medical device and pharmaceutical business units with over $10 billion in annual revenues. Before Covidien, he spent seven years working in strategy and corporate development for Edwards Lifesciences Corporation, where he was involved in divesting over 30% of the company and reinvesting these proceeds in more attractive, high-growth technologies to treat advanced cardiovascular disease.
Before entering the Life Sciences industry, Scott practiced law, principally at the international law firm of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance law. Prior to practicing law, Scott served as the acting CFO and Controller for H-3 Systems, a high tech company with Apple Computer as an investor, where he co-led a successful out-of-court restructuring and turnaround of the company. Scott began his career as an investment analyst in Weyerhaeuser Company’s corporate venture capital business.
Scott holds a M.B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles; a J.D. from Loyola Law School; and, a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.
